Welcome to Top Brass Bulldogs’ home on the web.  We are Dawn and Mark Berryman and we live in Hamilton, Ontario.  Top Brass Bulldogs is the result of the amalgamation of two established and respected breeding programs.  Together, we have over 30 years of breeding and showing Bulldogs.  We are members in good standing with the Bulldog Club of Central Canada, the Canadian Kennel Club and the Bulldog Club of America. 

Top Brass Bulldogs was officially recognized and registered with the CKC as our kennel name in 2011.  We strive to produce happy, healthy, well socialized puppies.  We stress health, temperament and conformation.  Top Brass Bulldog puppies are raised in our home with people of all ages and with other dogs and pets.  Top Brass Bulldogs actively shows their Bulldogs in both the U.S. and Canada.

Dawn’s original kennel name was Arrudabullz.  Through limited breeding to select quality Bulldogs, Dawn was able to produce many quality generations of Bulldogs.  The fruit of her labour of love is now being seen in the ring today.   Admittedly, Dawn’s expertise is not in the show end of things but more in puppy rearing and training.  Nobody loves puppies more than Dawn!

Mark was one half of Bredt’s Bulldogs, along with his brother, Paul for over 20 years.  During that time, many champions were owned, bred and finished on both sides of the border.

Mark and Paul were lucky enough to be mentored by many of the top breeders in North America such as Elmer Bredt, Pauline Devito and Delmar Shackelford from the U.S., and Charles and Flo Kettle and Gail and Chris Neilson here in Canada. Invaluable knowledge and experience was gained from all of them and is still put to use today. 

The name Top Brass Bulldogs is in homage to one of Mark’s favorite Bredt dogs.  Am.Can.Ch. Bredt’s Top Brass, also known as “Squish” was a memorable and special dog and he will be forever remembered here at Top Brass Bulldogs.  Mark is the current President of the Bulldog Club of Central Canada and has held a variety of positions within the club over the years.
